Based on your knowledge of the division of responsibilities between state, local, and national leaders, WHICH POLITICAL will be the most helpful in answering questions about this issue?
The community issue that i am most interested in learning more about would be the HISD budget cuts that were made. I am interested in this issue because at one point i was seriously considering becoming a teacher and another reason for this would be because i am currently a student and the budget cuts affected my education and the education of my peers. Another reason i am interested in this issue is because i want to find out to what extent the budget cuts were helpful in aliviating the debt. Based of my knowledge of the division of responsibilities between state, local, and national leaders i would say this is a local issue and Greg Meyers might be the person with the answers to my questions seeing how he is the President of the Board of Education.

ReplyDeleteOne of the local community issues that I'm am interested about is the drought in Houston. The reason I'm interested in this is because, at home, our plants only receive water from us and the trees and plants that surround our apartments are thirsty every day. In school, the drought gets in the way of fundraising for seniors, like for example a car wash. Plus as a community, as a whole its making our neighborhood a sad place to live in because of all of the dry plants and trees around the area. The political leader that will most likely be helpful would be the local government people.
ReplyDeleteThe community issue I'm interested right now is immigration. This issue affects me personally and mostly my surrounding. I see that there has to be away that this issue could be solve, without affecting any family. This is something that not only concerns locally, but state and nationally. The leaders I'll talk to will be President Obama, and representatives of each states.

ReplyDeleteThe community issue i am most concerned with is drought in texas. That really concerns me because that has to do with climate change. That is an issue worldwide and if we end up losing water and not getting enough basic needs for daily life will be sold for an insane price. The person that i think could help with this issue and i could talk to is Obama because he works with the United Nations to find resolutions on climate change and if he helps other nations i believe he will help his own country.

Im intrested in this issue because i am a us citizen from mexican backgroung and it would be unfair to banned immigrants the chance of having a better future. I really found myself interested in the censorship of computers. This is more than a local issue though, I never thought about it but we aren't the only ones who have filters on our computers. Many other school school districts, public libraries, buisnesses and companies have filters on the computers they own. I also found that filters aren't always effective. This topic is so debatable simply because there is no such thing as a perfect filter. Even the most popular filters mistakenly block out certain resourcful sites that may look bad on a company. I only scratched the surface of this topic, but based on what i've seen thusfar, i would think this is perhaps a local or state issue due to all the court rulings i have found.
ReplyDeleteThe community issue that interests me more is the driving rules. I'm interested in this issue because now in days the way people drive sucks! Some people drive too slow or too fast. I think we should have leaders from state, local, and national if possible Barack Obama, Rick Perry while he still is the governor of Texas and Al Green. There should be a discussion of making it more strict so people actually follow the rules and stick to the laws. If there is a need of more enforcement with police then we should do that.

The community issue I am most interested in is the food offered at public schools. I am interested in this issue because I am currently a student at a public school and I would like more options to be available for me and other students that eat school lunches as well. ReplyDeleteI want to talk about cafeteria food in local area. The reason of i interested in this is I have to eat cafeteria food every day, and the other students too. I did not go to any school else except here. So all i know is the cafeteria food in my school is not very well, and it's kind of expensive to normal students. A slice of pizza is ale for 2 dollars in school, and a whole pizza is sale for 5 dollars out of the school. And some of the food even from yesterday sometimes. I think is not cool to all the students and the teachers who wants to eat cafeteria food. Superintendent Dr. Terry Griter could be the most helpful people for this local issue, and the principal of my school can help this out.

I interested in this issue because I am wondering why do we have a long summer vacation but a short winter break? I think Christmas is a very important holiday, so we might need longer break. Based on my knowledge of the division of responsibilities between state, local, and national leader, I think President Obama will be the most helpful in answering questions about this issue because it kind like a national problem.

ReplyDeleteI'm interested in this issue because i worry about it, you never know if it could happen to you. There is actually alot of psycos out there who traffick people, human trafficking is a crime against humanity. Based on my knowledge of the division of the responsibilities between state, local, and national issues, i believe this is a national issue and the person who can inform me more about this and answer my questions would be Zedler, Bill. Zedler, Bill is the one confronting the issue and the related issues to human trafficking.
The issue that Im interested is Immigration because it affects not only me personally but the entire community & country. Im concern with the new laws that are being incomplemeted against immigrants. Immigration can have a positive affect such as creating diversity, helping stabilized the economy & it could affect the country in a negative way such as driving the country into debt. This is a national issue so I think the most appropiate poltical leaders to help in this important issue will be President Obama.
